1965 Mustang GT Coupe
This car was last registered in the state of Alabama in 1992. The '92 license plate and papers are still with the car. The car seems to have been kept out of the weather since that time.
This is a true factory GT car. It has the factory dual exhaust hangers still attached. It has the 22:1 steering box stamped "HCC AX". It has the large diameter front sway bar. The foglight switch and wiring are here, but the lamps themselves are not. The car no longer has an engine and transmission. The numbers say that this car left the factory with a 289 4bbl and 3-speed transmission. A '65 289 4bbl with an aluminum intake along with your choice of either a '65 T-10 4-speed or a 3-speed transmission go with the car.
The body of this Mustang is very complete and rust free. The rear quarter panels have been professionally redone and ready for paint. The top, rear deck, taillight panel, and both doors are ready for paint. The front fenders are both new. The aftermarket hood has a few small dings in it, as does the cowl. The front and rear valances are in good condition. All the glass is here.
Inside, the floors have been professionally replaced, front to rear, both sides. The seats are presentable. The driver's seat is worn, but a new matching seat cover comes with the car. The car will need new carpet, headliner, and door panels. The dash and all components will need to be redone or replaced. There is an original FoMoCo air conditioner unit in the car. Cannot promise that it works.
As with any car this age that has been sitting so long, it needs brake system and front suspension work. It will also need a fuel tank and lines. I have decided to offer this one as is on ebay so that I can build a fastback. If it doesn't sell then I'll build this one.
